Can I order lenses without seeing an optician?
Regulation varies by country, but the practical situation in the EU is:
- First-time purchase: a recent (usually within the last 1–2 years) contact-lens prescription is required by every reputable retailer.
- Repeat purchase of the same brand and parameters: most retailers, including R2 Vision, ask you to confirm that the original prescription is still valid. We do not ask you to re-upload the document each time.
- Brand or parameter change: even a 0.25 D step or a switch from monthly to daily should be checked by an optician — the fit may need re-evaluation.
If your prescription is older than 2 years, book an updated eye exam before ordering. Vision changes are common, and lens fit subtly shifts with age and lifestyle (screen time, pregnancy, medication).
