My lens feels gritty or uncomfortable. What should I do?
Discomfort almost always falls into one of four buckets:
- Debris (eyelash, dust) trapped under the lens — remove, rinse with multi-purpose solution, reinsert. Most common cause.
- Lens inside out — the edges flare like a saucer instead of curving inward like a bowl. Flip and reinsert.
- Damaged lens (tear, edge defect) — discard and use a fresh one. Never wear a damaged lens.
- Dryness — add 1–2 re-wetting drops and blink slowly.
If you have done all four and it still hurts, stop wearing lenses, switch to glasses, and book an eye-care appointment. Persistent grittiness with redness or light sensitivity can be an early infection sign — don't push through it.
